Hi there,

I tried searching for this but saw no mention. The issue I'm having with the newer NVidia drivers (both the release and the beta) is that the start menu will "jump" off of the taskbar until I click on it.

See below:

Does anyone know of a way to fix this?

It only seems to happen when using NV Surround, which for me is all of the time.

I've tried different start menu skins, including the default which seemed to make no difference. Although switching button skins is the best way to reproduce the issue.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks

The Nvidia software is trying to push all windows to be above the taskbar, and that includes the start button as well. It just doesn't play nice with other software.
I think after a logoff it fixes itself until you start changing settings.

I appreciate the response. Rather than the distracting jumping botton I've turned it off and have it operating from clicking the corner.

Hopefully it'll get cleared up sometime in the future, since this seems to be the first version of the NV driver that has caused it for me (although it did show up when I tried some beta drivers, which was partially why I didnt switch to them).

I'm also having this problem and realize we are unfortunately a very small minority. Is this something that is still being looked into from your end? I've tested it and it actually happens after each reboot and when switching back to the desktop from a fullscreen app.

I've also submitted feedback to NVidia for this, as well as a slew of other issues they've introduced into the multi-monitor behavior in recent drivers. I love your software and find it truly essential, but would really like to update my video card drivers at some point in the future. :) For the time being I've reverted back to their least problematic 320.49 drivers.

No further work is being done to improve the compatibility with Nvidia Surround. Anything I do can potentially break with the next version of the drivers.

In case anyone is still struggling with this issue, I've discovered a temporary workaround. If you copy over the NvSmartMax driver helper files from the 320.49 version of the drivers, all of these issues go away with the exception of the task bar jump lists being in the wrong place(something I have a workaround for using WinSize2). The 4 files that need to be replaced are nvsmartmax.dll, nvsmartmax64.dll, nvsmartmaxapp.exe, and nvsmartmaxapp64.exe in the C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Display directory.

I'm personally sticking with v320.49 for the time being, but maybe someone who needs the more recent drivers for some other reason will find this useful.
