i recently installed Classic Shell, and its nice, made me redesign my theme to match(stole most from another theme to ease the job) but i have a big empty space next to the start button, anyone else have this?

---------this area---
its annoying as hell and i dont know how to remove it, tried without classic shell, and it was gone, started classic shell and it appeared again.
i have tried dragging icons, to see if it just moved the icons away, but it did not help.

also, i have UN-ticked the cascading menu, but its still cascading.(minor problem, i can live with)

i can live with all these errors, they are just annoying because its messing up my theme.

Kind Regards Pesoen

How wide is your button image?
Not sure what you mean about the cascading menu. Which setting exactly did you uncheck?
Also, what version of Classic Shell are you using? And on what version of Windows?

Do you have multi-monitor setup?
try unlocking your taskbar, dragging it to make it taller, than drag it back down to regular size and see if this fixes the issue (ive had a similar problem)

my start button image is part of my theme, and is 54 pixels wide. im using 3.6.8 and by cascading i mean it looks like windows xp(it expands looking a bit like a contet menu) instead of looking like it does on windows 7.

jcee:
i tried it, not helping, thoug i noticed if i move the taskbar to the right of my screen(not in the bottom like it should) its still very wide, though it moves the start button into the center.

im gonna try a few things with my start icon, and a few other things, and report back if it helped or not.

EDIT: i did not use classic shell's start button changer, its how it looks in my theme, in case you thought otherwise.

EDIT2: sorry for the odd times of day i reply, i have a odd job that needs me during the night.

@Pesoen, please upgrade to the latest beta of Classic Shell: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/latestbeta. That will give you a non-cascading menu. As for the gap between the button, the width of the Start button image determines the size. Are there transparent pixels in your Start button image which make it wider than 54 pixels? You can try attaching your Start button here so we can take a look at it.

the beta helped with cascading menu, but still a space between button and icons.

Is it possible you have some other software that is trying to make room for its own purposes? Maybe an old copy of Start8, or Power8, or something?

The image works fine for me. No gap. It must be something in your visual style or some invisible toolband causing the space. Try unlocking the taskbar and then right clicking on and around the empty space to disable anything that's enabled accidentally like an empty quick launch bar or something.

tried moving things around, nothing there, placed a toolbar for a folder in the taskbar and moved it over there, still a gap.

any good ideas for a visual style editor?(might be the problem, since the theme file i use is made for a larger start button(sorry i first thought of that now).

anyway great support, so i will recommend this to many of my friends.
