Hi, What is the method by which a user-defined button is added to the taskbar in C++? I tried using the ITaskbarList interface, but this doesn't do what I need.

I've been searching for the past three days and cannot find how this is done.

Thanks for any help you can offer,
Rich

There are multiple steps and they are different depending on the OS.

You have to hide the original button, then reserve space for the new button, then create the new button. You have to be careful to restore the original state when you are done. You have to handle the taskbar being moved, as well as multiple taskbars.

Look at the source code for details.
