After installing Classic Menu everything looked fine. However, after a re-boot of the computer the Desk 365 icon, installed by Windows 8, moved over to the left
on top of the Classic Menu Start Button. I could not fix this no matter what I tried. I removed the Desk 365 from the taskbar, right clicked on the desktop
installed a new shortcut, which was the Desk 365 program. After doing this the Desk 365 icon still overrode the Classic Start Menu icon. I want to be able to use
both from the taskbar, but I can not find any fix to prevent the Desk 365 icon from becoming a bully and demanding its place on the taskbar.

Any suggestion or fix will be most appreciated.

Thank You

Looks like that program does something similar to Classic Shell to stick itself into the taskbar. Unfortunately there is no standard way to do this, therefore no standard way for multiple programs to share that space. I don't see a way to have both running at the same time.

You can try running Classic Shell without a start button. Then you will only be able to open the start menu from the keyboard.

Thank you for your reply. This might work. After Classic Start Menu is installed how do I eliminate the start button and select the spacebar or any other
special key to open the Classic Start Menu? If you use the space bar when you are composing a document and hit the space bar wouldn't it cause the
menu to open?

Thank You

Go to the Start Button tab in the settings and uncheck "Enable Start Button".
You will be able to open the start menu using the Win key or whatever shortcut you set in the "Controls" tab.

Ok I see what you say, however my Start Button tab does not have an "Enable Start Button" selection. I have attached a pic of my
start menu tab.

Hm, that's weird. Looks like the start menu thinks you are running on Windows 7. I thought you said you use Windows 8.

Oh my gosh. You are right. I installed in in my computer , which runs Windows 7 Pro. Then I installed it on a friends laptop
which is running Windows 8. It is on the laptop that I am having the problem. I guess until I can access their computer again
I will not know about the "Enable Start Button" box. I am sure it is like you say. Hopefully this will clear up the problem and I
can assign whatever key they like to bring up the Start Menu Button. Hopefully down the road someone will come up with a
solution to have the Classic Start Menu Button and the Desk 365 icon both on the taskbar.

Thank you very much for a speedy and courteous solution to the problem I had.
