My computer just upgraded to Windows 10 ver 1607 and Windows removed Classic Shell on my computer as it did for others who have mentioned it. My situation seems to be different. I've tried removing Classic Shell several times using the standard uninstaller and using Classic Shell Utility. They all seemed to be successful and then, each time, I re-installed Classic Shell also without errors. When I reboot my computer, Classic start menu doesn't work (although it is running) and my screen keeps "refreshing" (it goes blank and then redraws) at a rate of about once per second. It keeps doing that until I go into Task Manager and kill Classic Start Menu and then all is well but with no Classic Start menu. Any help? I think Windows is intolerable without Classic Start Menu. The more I have to use Windows, the more I love Linux.

Try once again using the Utility to remove it. Also this time, when you use the Classic Shell Utility to remove it, check the options to also remove all user settings.

Then reinstall the latest version. It should not crash.

If the taskbar disappears and appears again (as you describe screen "refreshing"), it means Explorer might be crashing for some reason when Classic Shell is installed. If removing it using the utility including all its settings does not work to fix it, capture a crash dump after installing Classic Shell using these instructions: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6
