I am running Windows 10 Pro build 10.0.10586 (recent clean install), and Classic Shell 4.2.7 beta.

Each day I come to the office, Classic Shell no longer opens when I click the Start button. Instead, I get the standard Windows 10 start menu. If I reboot the machine, the same thing occurs - Classic Shell no longer opens by clicking the Start button.

Initially, I took the advice to upgrade from 4.2.5 to 4.2.7 beta after reading about an expired certificate or something that caused Windows 10 to block Classic Shell (I also renamed the installer as mentioned here in the forum). The only thing I've done that seems to reactivate Classic Shell is to run the installer again, and select the 'repair' option.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

No this is not normal. Something on your PC like an antivirus may be blocking Classic Shell. You can make a backup of your Settings by exporting them to XML. Then use the Classic Shell Utility to completely remove it: http://www.mediafire.com/download/3uker ... tility.exe

Finally reinstall the latest version again. Also, make sure "Start automatically for this user" option is enabled on the "General Behavior" tab of Classic Start Menu Settings.

At startup, ClassicStartMenu.exe must be running. If it isn't you can copy-paste a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe in your Startup folder at C:\Users\<Your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

I am a Windows enthusiast and helped a little with Classic Shell's testing and usability/UX feedback.
