Hello! I am looking at upgrading our company to server 2012R2 and am looking at using Classic Shell to make the start menu usable. On a fresh install of 2012R2 with remote desktop session host role install with the desktop experience feature I am getting a weird graphical glitch when remoting in.

This is happening on two servers I have setup for testing. Any idea's?

Are you sure this is related to Classic Shell? This looks like the normal Windows button

That is with the Classic Start Menu enabled on the Windows 7 mode. The black bar beside the start button next to the Control Panel icon is the issue. It also tweaks out as you move your mouse over it. I am using the Windows Basic theme if that matters.

I don't think I have permissions to access that link. I get "Sorry, you cannot access this document. Please contact the person who shared it with you. ".

Basic theme? Isn't Windows Server 2012 R2 the server equivalent of Windows 8.1? It has a separate Basic theme? Or did you mean Classic Shell's Basic SKIN?

I think he means "Windows 7 style" and "Windows Basic skin".

Yes, that is I mean. I renewed the download link for you, it should be valid for 3 days this time.

I see a large number of hook DLLs loaded in Explorer. I think they have something to do with Citrix "enhanced desktop experience". Can you temporarily disable it and see if that makes a difference?

I am sending you a second file, its from a second server showing the same issue that hasn't had the Citrix software installed yet.

I don't know then. The log file seems OK.
I see that this is a VM. Is it possible to share a copy of it? I will need to install some development tools and run tests.
