I am using Windows 8.1

I followed these instructions
Quote:
Windows 8: The status bar is implemented by Classic Shell. Enable it from the Status Bar tab in the Classic Explorer settings.
You may want to disable the built-in status bar from Explorer's Folder Options dialog. The setting is in the View tab.

But when I open any folder and select any file, the status bar is not there.

Anyone got any ideas?

I included 2 screenshots in the attachments, showing enabling the status bar in the classic explorer settings, and one where after doing those steps, the status bar is still not visible when clicking a file.

Verify that the ExplorerBHO addon is enabled, as shown here: http://www.classicshell.net/faq/#explorer_toolbar

Classic Explorer Bar, ExplorerBHO Class and ClassicIEBHO Class were enabled at the time I took these screenshots. I also verified that, under the Advanced tab, Enable third-party browser extensions was enabled.

I can suggest disabling those addons in IE Internet Options and enabling them again. Sometimes IE gets confused between the 3 states of its add-ons, Disabled, Disabled for IE but Enabled for Explorer, and Enabled for both.

Sorry for reviving this -- but how do you do this same procedure in Windows 10 or is the classic status bar for Windows Explorer gone for Windows 10+Classic Shell?

----

Edit: Nevermind, I was able to get it to work on Windows 10 as well. Thanks guys!
