Hello!
I want to pin a few programs to all new created user profiles on a machine.

I have copied the Folder \AppData\Roaming\ClassicShell\Pinned to the Default user Profile.

This works perfectly, but i also want to have the right order of the programs.

I have seen in the Registry the Folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Order which contains a binary key with the value for the order.

The value is always the same for the right order, but the Name of the key is different for each user, it Looks like a crc32 or something.

How do you generate the keyname?

It is simple to write a script that makes the regkey, but only if i know how the Name would made?

Please help!

Regards,
Stoffl.

They value name is a hash of the full folder path. Since the user name is part of the path, each user will have unique hash.
One thing you can do is name your shortcuts alphabetically. It is the default order when the data in the registry is missing.

Btw if you use the "Start Menu" folder instead of the "Pinned" folder, you can copy all the shortcuts to %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu). They will be present for all user accounts
