Probably it is a good idea to make a limited version of Classic Shell,
which will only make a UP Button in Explorer.

I greatly appreciate all the work that has been done by developers and community,
but I think I am not alone, who uses Classic Shell only for bringing Up Button back.

Thank you!

Every feature in Classic Shell can be turned off, so you can choose to install only Classic Explorer and turn off the rest of the features via Classic Explorer settings.

The whole idea is that user does not have so choose among any options or switch something off.
Just install a tiny app and get the Up Button.

I believe that the idea is not that bad.

And imagine if every person who loves only 1 feature wants his own app with only that feature. We can't create 10 different apps :) - 1 app for Explorer navigation pane, 1 app for title bar, 1 app for disabling breadcrumbs, 1 app for Up button, 1 app for address bar, 1 toolbar app, 1 status bar app, 1 icon overlay app, 1 file operation mod app. In that case, if a user wants all enhancements not only will he have to install all 10 but the performance impact/memory consumption on Explorer of 10 separate shell extensions will be higher.

The idea is not practical.

You are right, separate programs for each function would be a mess.

However, I think that the Up Button is not just one of the functions, it is something bigger. When Windows Vista appeared there were so many discussions about disappeared Up button, it was a real issue, thousands (probably millions) bought a Mavis Up Button software just to bring this button back. And Classic Shell is the only free program that makes up button, as soon as I know. Many people install it just for it.

You can say the same for many other features. There is similar number of people that are outraged about the breadcrumbs and only want that feature. A lot of people are complaining about the scroll bug in the navigation pane. Or the status bar not showing the correct file size. To different people different features are important.
