Uninstalled programs still sppear in Classic-style (Win95-style) Start menu after uninstall. This is under Win7 64-bit. They can be removed manually with right-click and choosing delete.

If you have reorganized them by moving or renaming the shortcuts or their folders, then they will continue to appear in the menu after uninstall. Don't rename or move them across folders so uninstallers delete their shortcuts.

I did not reorganize them. And this happens with a lot of different applications.

Installers are supposed to place shortcuts in the Programs folder. The start menu simply displays the contents of that folder. On the flip side the uninstallers for the given software are supposed to remove those shortcuts.

If you see shortcuts to uninstalled programs, then the uninstaller failed to remove them. It may be because of a bug in the software or it may be because somebody moved or copied the shortcuts (either on purpose or accidentally).
