Hello!

On Windows 8.1, when using an Aero Glass mod, Classic Shell Start Menu is not changing the intensity of the color of the menu with windows.
I can post screenshots if needed.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Which Start Menu skin are you using with the Aero mod?

I am using the Aero Skin, but it also affects the Windows 8 skin.
Upon closer inspection, it does respect the change, but it deviates further away the closer you are to 0 in intensity. It may just be me... but if it is easy to tweak the skin, it would be nice. I apologize... after comparing screenshots it doesn't look as bad as I thought before.

I attached 2 screenshots showing the difference. The first shot is with the defaults for that color and the second is with the intensity turned way down (showing how the taskbar and start menu then differentiate.

Also, since I have seen threads about the taskbar not matching the start menu... this is tested with the taskbar rendering with Aero instead of the Windows 8 transparency.

There are many elements that go into the final color mix. After you have chosen a color for your windows you can further tweak the color that is used by the start menu with the setting "Override glass color". Even then you may not find the exact combination between color and transparency that you are after because each skin interprets the glass color differently. If you want lower color intensity you may try to check the skin setting "Reduce glass color".

Reduce glass color just makes it black for me.

I understand about the color mixing, so I guess I will just use the custom color setting. It is a bit disappointing, but I understand (as a programmer as well) that it is difficult to perfectly match it.

Thanks for your help!
Jonathan
