You need to run the installer for 4.0.2 again and choose remove. Then install the latest version 4.0.4.
If you don't have the installer for 4.0.2 anymore, you can download it from here: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/

I don't understand the problem then. If you already have the latest version 4.0.4 then what are you trying to update/uninstall?

Download Classic Shell 4.0.2 installer (http://download1269.mediafire.com/vwa5p ... _4_0_2.exe) and download it to your Desktop. Then run this command from the Run dialog:
"C:\Users\<your user name>\Desktop\ClassicShellSetup_4_0_2.exe" extract64

The MSI file will be extracted to the same folder (Desktop) as the EXE installer. Right click the MSI file and choose Uninstall. Then install Classic Shell 4.0.4.
