It is unclear if these are pinned shortcuts, recent programs, or custom items.
If they are pinned, right-click to unpin.
If they are recent programs, disable the recent/frequent programs from the Main Menu tab in the settings.
If thy are custom items, delete them from the Customize Start Menu tab in the settings.

Thank you for your reply. They are not pinned . They are popup when you click on windows start menu and it opens windows update explorer. We are applying local group policy and trying to disable them.

Well, then they are either showing in the menu because you have enabled to see the frequently used programs, or because they are added as custom menu items.
You have to figure out where they come from before I can tell you how to remove them.

That still doesn't answer the question how these items show up in your menu.
Download the Classic Shell Utility from here: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/
Run it, save a system log file, and send it to me.

You can attach it here, but if it contains sensitive info you can drop it in this folder: http://www.mediafire.com/filedrop/filed ... ca5151aa1d
Only I can see it.

Set the setting "Show recent or frequent programs" to "Don't show".

Not fixed yet. It was already set as "don't show" to "Show recent or frequent programs" before our conversation.

These are most likely shortcuts in your C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu folder. Open this folder in Explorer and delete them from there.
