Hello! I am looking at upgrading our company to server 2012R2 and am looking at using Classic Shell to make the start menu usable. On a fresh install of 2012R2 with remote desktop session host role install with the desktop experience feature I am getting a weird graphical glitch when remoting in. This is happening on two servers I have setup for testing. Any idea's?

Are you sure this is related to Classic Shell? This looks like the normal Windows button |

The black bar beside the start button next to the Control Panel icon is the issue. It also tweaks out as you move your mouse over it. I am using the Windows Basic theme if that matters. |

Basic theme? Isn't Windows Server 2012 R2 the server equivalent of Windows 8.1? It has a separate Basic theme? Or did you mean Classic Shell's Basic SKIN? |

I think he means "Windows 7 style" and "Windows Basic skin". |

I see a large number of hook DLLs loaded in Explorer. I think they have something to do with Citrix "enhanced desktop experience". Can you temporarily disable it and see if that makes a difference? |

I am sending you a second file, its from a second server showing the same issue that hasn't had the Citrix software installed yet. |

I don't know then. The log file seems OK. I see that this is a VM. Is it possible to share a copy of it? I will need to install some development tools and run tests. |
