I've been using Windows 10 Home 32-bit on a Winbook TW-801 Tablet with UEFI BIOS along with Classic Shell 4.23 for almost 2 weeks.
Today I updated my computers and my Winbook to Classic Shell 4.24...

On the Winbook I picked to restart explorer rather than restart during installation. During installation the display went to
a black screen and never returned to the desktop. Rebooting did not correct the problem. I was able to let it boot to black
and then CTRL-ALT-DEL which brought up Task Manager. I ran Control Panel and the Restore from there and did a restore
from the point prior to Classic Shell 4.2.4 install...Got everything back working..(BTW I had done today's Windows updates
prior to installing Classic Shell 4.24...

So I tried again with Classic Shell 4.2.4 but this time picked to reboot after installation rather than restart explorer...

SAME THING...Upon reboot it booted to a black screen...Again I did a control-alt-del to get task manager then restored
to the point prior to installing 4.2.4....

So now I'm back to 4.2.3 and everything is OK...
Just wanted to report this issue with this particular computer (tablet) WINBOOK TW-801 with Windows 10 HOME 32-bit
that uses a UEFI BIOS.

I have just released a new tool that performs full uninstall of Classic Shell. You can try it and see if afterwards version 4.2.4 will work for you.
Download the Classic Shell Utility from here http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/
Run it and select the second option "Remove Classic Shell". Read the instructions carefully. Reboot after you are done.

If you want to keep your settings, you may back them up into XML file first. This is just a precaution. The utility will not remove your settings unless you check the option to do it.

Let me know how it works for you.

Ivo,

Thanks. I ran the uinstaller utility...After that Classic Shell was gone...

Then I ran 4.2.4 install again....This time it ran without error and I had Classic Shell 4.2.4
running and installed...

Then I rebooted to confirm everything was OK...

Upon reboot got a BLACK SCREEN again....

So I did the ctrl-alt-del which brought up task manager, ran control panel, started restore point and
restored to previous point yesterday from before I first installed 4.2.4...

Am back and working with 4.2.3...

It's strange....With 4.2.4 the computer is working but it's just a black screen...No desktop, no icons, but
I can ctrl-alt-del and from there run anything and it appears on screen. If I close them then it's back to a
black screen. The computer (tablet) has no problem with Classic Shell 4.2.3.

OK. That's weird. There are very few differences between 4.2.3 and 4.2.4, even fewer that may affect the startup of Windows.

If 4.2.3 works for you then you can keep using it.

I would be curious to find the cause of the problem, however it would require running many tests on your end and I can't ask you to spend more time on this than you already have.

Ivo,

I just tried it again...Ran the uninstaller utility but this time picked to delete all user settings (Checked all three boxes to delete settings)...
Uninstalled Classic Shell...Rebooted....

Then I ran 4.2.4 again....It installed fine...I changed no settings leaving everything as default...Rebooted...

Back to black screen on reboot...Ran the restore point and back to 4.2.3 and everything working again...

I can try to help with the troubleshooting if you want (I may have to ask questions if there's something I'm not clear on)...

Hey just wanted to report that I saw 4.2.5 available today and gave it a try on my Windows 10 WINBOOK Tablet that previously had
a black screen with 4.2.4 and I had to run 4.2.3 until now...
Happy to report whatever it was has been corrected and I'm now running Classic Shell 4.2.5 without issues.

Thanks.
