hi, all. i have been using classic shell for three years now, and (for the first time) i see the classic shell start menu disappear. Every now and then, maybe every 2-3 hours, the classic shell start menu disappears and my computer needs to reload the program. Is there a timer on classic shell shell or something? This has only happened for the last 2 weeks (after windows 8 update -- whatever it is!). Is anyone else having this problem? I am using classic start menu (v. 4.1.0) on windows 8.1 pro. Please help! Sincerely Yours, Kay T |

None of this is supposed to happen. There is no timer of any sort in the program. Download the Classic Shell Utility from here: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/ Run it and send me the log file. |

Hi. This is happening to me too. I've run the utility and attach the log file here. I've sent the password by PM. Thanks, Andante

Looks like you are running multiple start menu programs. I see ViStart and IOBit. You should not use multiple start menus at the same time. Pick one and uninstall the rest. There are 3 explorer processes and 2 ClassicStartMenu processes. This is not normal. Also, I should have clarified that you need the utility to run after the problem has occurred. Is that the case here? |
