Auto-arrange means - "from now on, always sort the items alphabetically". It is different from "Sort by Name" because that would only sort once and then append new items at the end. It is a per-folder setting because you may want different folders to be arranged differently. |

Can you provide a screenshot? It is important to see where the start menu is, where the taskbar is, where the start button is, etc. Also note which taskbar is the main one and which is from DF |

It may be an issue with the RTL version of the copy dialog box. Try switching the language to English from the Classic Explorer settings. You will have to log off for the settings to change. Then try copying a file again. |

Look at the Administrative Settings section in the help. Basically you have to copy some registry values from HKCU\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu into HKLM\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu. Those settings will be forced on all users and can't be changed. How do you find the names of the values? ... |

Does this happen always, or only sometimes? I have seen the icons not showing up occasionally, however it also happens for the new UI as well. |

You can try a tool like Process Explorer, that can search for open handles to specific files. A likely suspect for keeping files locked is AV software. There are ways to disable Classic Shell, but they are different for each component. The easiest is to just uninstall it. Your settings will be prese... |

The Sort by Name functionality is there, but there is more, because Classic Shell has more features. Are you trying to remove the extra menu item just because, or for some security concern? |

That's how menus work. If you activate a menu with the mouse, there are no accelerators. If you start using the keyboard, the accelerators appear. Try it in Explorer. If you activate the File menu with the mouse you see Open. If you activate it with Alt+F, you see Open. |

Do you log in automatically, or do you have to type a password? If you click on the Desktop tile as soon as possible, do you see the start button? If you log out and log in, does it go to the Desktop right away? I suspect the service is starting too late during the boot sequence. Maybe you installed... |

The current post limit is 60000 characters. As for Display Fusion, we worked together to ensure our products are compatible with each other. I get a small commission if somebody buys DF through this site. |

ClassicStartMenu.exe is not a commonly started program. No need to pollute the App Paths with it. If a script needs the path, it can be found in HKLM\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicShell |

Ah, now it works. Needed one more checkbox. As for the design of the forum, I have little control over it. There are other skins out there however I had to do some modifications to this one to make it fit into the rest of the website, and I don't want to be doing that again. |

You have to enter it on the command line. Of course you have to be in the Classic Shell directory, where ClassicStartMenu.exe is. The start menu is not in that process. The start menu is in the explorer process. The ClassicStartMenu process is there to inject the start menu into explorer and to watc... |

I don't think that's possible. The system doesn't remember where a program is launched from. Also, fixed the forum permissions and now you can post to "feature requests". |

I don't think that's possible. For security the IE9/10 is split into 2 processes - one for the main frame that runs with higher integrity level and one for each of the tabs, that run at lower integrity level. The address bar and the tabs belong to the main process and the menu and status bar are par... |

I believe people have successfully used Classic Shell on Server 2012. It is pretty much identical with the desktop version of Windows 8, with some options turned on or off. From what I hear, it has an alternative system to natively bypass the Metro screen and go to the Desktop, so you might want to ... |
