I installed a WD My Book 4 T-byte external backup drive that produced some side-effects. Once the WD SmartWare was installed, ClassicShell was not loading during Windows 7 startup. I examined the settings and the start-up option is checked.

I wonder what is the interplay between these two software packages. The start-up could be a registry run option overwritten by the WD software. A possible work-around could be a simple entry into the StartUp folder.

Yes copying a shortcut to C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe and pasting it in %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup will launch the menu if it does not start normally.

I am a Windows enthusiast and helped a little with Classic Shell's testing and usability/UX feedback.
