Hello. With the help of Classic Shell, I finally have my Windows 8.1 working how I want. The only thing I would like is this option for the windows key:

When on desktop the windows key brings up metro, and when in metro the windows key brings up desktop.

By "In Metro" do you mean the Start screen or when some Metro app is open?

If you mean the Start screen, then that is already possible. Set "Windows Key opens" to "Windows Start Screen". That will open the Start screen when you are on the Desktop and will switch to Desktop when you are on the Start screen.

Hi GauravK. That is what I meant by "In Metro". I do already have the "Windows Key opens Windows Start Screen" set. When I'm in a Metro App however the Windows Key currently just switches back and forth from the Start Screen and the Metro App.

Oh ok so you mean an option for Windows key to toggle between the Desktop and an open Metro app. That option is not currently present.

Btw, I noticed Start8 currently has such an option. When a Metro app is not open, it does nothing in Start8.

Yes! Almost exactly! I would like the windows key to toggle between desktop and start screen/metro app. So from the desktop the windows key will always bring up the start screen, and from either the start screen or a metro app the windows key will always bring up the desktop.

Can I request this? Should I edit my original post?
