Like if I have Firefox on my start menu it'll have a right arrow and if I hover over it then it'll show me some tasks I could do with it like open new tab, open new window, or new private window. There's some things I have like MPC-HC for instance that if I hover over them it tries to read information for all 6 of my HDD's at once, which... Well... I keep my computer fans on low for a quiet environment and it causes them all to kick on when so many HDD's suddenly come alive so it's pretty inconvenient, and it's of course not limited to just that entry.

So anyways, is there any way to disable the right arrow things?

The feature is called "jumplists". You can disable them by unchecking "Enable jumplists" from the Main Menu tab in the settings.
