I have ClassicShell 4.0.0 installed on my work PC and on the Start Menu Style tab, there's an option named "Replace Start Button", which I have unchecked, so I can see the Windows 8.1 Start Button.

However, in ClassicShell 4.0.2, this option has changed to "Enable Start Button" and unchecking it just hides the Start Button. I searched the settings, but didn't find the "Replace Start Button" setting.

How can I show the default Windows 8.1 Start Button in 4.0.2?

Thanks,
Cavar

The behavior you are describing should only happen on Windows 8, not 8.1. Windows 8 does not have a built-in start button.

Are you sure you have Windows 8.1? If so, try rebooting. Hopefully the start menu is temporarily confused.

Ah, good call. My work PC is Windows 8.1, but I haven't updated the laptop yet, since I still need access to IE10.

I'll just use a custom button graphic on my laptop.
