Windows 8 Pro x64
Classic Shell 4.0.0On my system, the Settings - Menu Look - Main menu width is ignored on values greater than 39. This was not an issue on Classic Shell v3.6.8. I have attempted changing the default of 60 to a range from 40 through 100 - no difference. Values of 39 and lower do narrow the Menu Width ...

Which style of the menu are you using?

The setting is just an upper limit. The menu will not get wider than the widest menu item.
I just tried it with some very long item and it worked fine even with 100.

Just installed the new Classic Shell v4.0.2 - cured the issue perfectly!
And I really like the new setting to hide Metro apps from the Programs folder!
