Hello there !

Classic Shell gives me the ability to do things that I had always wanted to with the start menu, but I've come across quite an odd little problem...

To explain what I mean in the title a bit more clearly, on the right lane of the start menu, I've added a custom item set to "Display as menu." It's set to display a directory of my hard drive that includes the .exe for the PS1 emulator ePSXe, as well as ePSXe's various files and such. What's odd is that when launching ePSXe.exe from this menu, ePSXe can't seem to read anything from its folder. Nothing is configured, and it can't find its plugin files. It looks like it's running ePSXe as if it were just the .exe in an empty folder.

I hope that's explained well enough... let me know if I need to elaborate a bit more.

Any ideas?

OS: Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium

What happens if you type the full path to the EXE in the Run box?

If I do that, it runs as it should. It's able to find everything just fine :/ .

Also, this issue does not occur if I add a shortcut of ePSXe.exe to a library, then add the library to the start menu displaying as a menu.

Looks like it is a working path issue. Classic Shell isn't setting the working directory to the same one as the EXE when running it?

Hmm

I just tried opening a configuration program for one of ePSXe's GPU plugins, and it wasn't able to find the config file that it writes to.

However, it would seem that not every program is having this issue... Some examples:

OBS, Project64, Stepmania 5, and SumatraPDF all seem to have no trouble finding their files.

In the latest Classic Shell, it sets the working directory to the same path as the EXE. Please report if the issue with your program is fixed.
