Background: In Classic Explorer 3.6.8, under the Navigation Pane tab, a user can select Navigation Pane Style options XP Classic, XP Simple, and Vista. I have ignored vista mode for this request.
If a user selects XP Classic, the navigation pane shows the [+] sign next to a folder with sub-folders and the hierarchical connecting lines between folders. Also, to expand a folder the user must double-click the folder or press the [+].
If a user selects XP Simple, the navigation pane shows the [+] sign next to a folder with sub-folders but does not show the hierarchical connecting lines between folders. Also, single clicking the folder automatically expands the folder to show any sub-folders.
I appreciate the visual look of the hierarchical connecting lines between folders (available only under XP Classic) but must have the single click folder expansion (available only under XP Simple). Enabling these two things at the same time is not an option of Classic Explorer 3.6.8.
My request: Add an option that allows the user to enable the auto expand folder function when users select XP Classic.
[ ] Auto-expand navigation pane folder on single click Tool Tip: When selected, clicking a navigation pane folder causes it to automatically expand.
Thanks for the consideration.
Notes: [ ] = check box Please do not change the auto expand and collapse behavior; just enable the current behavior if the box is checked.
BTW: Classic explorer is the only app I have found that enables the navigation pane auto expand feature that was in XP. If this can be done through a simple REG key, I would select and apply XP Classic and then change the REG key to get what I'm looking for.
