Hello

I'm not able to "right click" on the Classic Start Menu to obtain the sub menu. All that happens when I click on it is that it will transfer between the Desktop and the Windows 8 start screen only

I've deleted the software and re-installed it a number of times, but the result is always the same

Any ideas?

Thanks

Right clicking on the Start button is supposed to show the context menu for Classic Start Menu. To configure what left click does and what Windows key does or Shift+left click does, right click on the Start button -> Settings. If you are viewing Basic Settings, on the Basic Settings tab, what click or keystroke does what can be configured. If you are viewing All Settings, the same can be done from the 'Controls' tab.

If you set the left click on the start menu to open the Windows start screen, then to get the context menu you have to use Shift+right-click.

Why is it that way? :o IMHO, regular right click should always show the CSM context menu as long as it's running, irrespective of what left click is set to.

It is because of Windows 7. When you select to open the Windows 7 menu with a left click, I assume you also want to see the Windows 7 context menu when you right-click.
Of course it doesn't make sense for Windows 8, as there is no default menu.

I wonder if it will have a default menu if the Start button is added to the taskbar by Microsoft in Windows 8.1.
