After updating to Creators Update version of Windows 10, the 'Settings -> Main Menu -> Show recent or frequent programs -> frequent programs' setting no longer works and the list of frequent programs comes empty. Tried on both Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise also with resetting settings and/or reinstalling.

Any chance of fix soon?

You need the setting turned on at the operating system level. For Windows 10, the setting for it is in Settings app -> Personalization -> Start. "Show most used apps". After turning it on, try launching a couple of programs and they should show up in the Frequent list.

Yes you are right, thank you.

Also there is a new setting under Privacy: "Let Windows track app launches to improve start and search results". It needs to be on otherwise "Show most used apps" cannot be turned on.
