I just downloaded the latest version of shell classic and noticed Piriform CCleaner being installed all by itself. Is this a coincidence or is the cleaner packaged with Shell Classic?

It shouldn't be; Assuming you downloaded from classicshell.net your pc might be infected with something else causing the install. I would recommend a good virus scan

The version of Classic Shell from this website is not bundled with any other software.
Possibly you got it from somewhere else?

Yes please, always install from http://www.classicshell.net and verify the digital signature during the UAC prompt to make sure it's signed by Ivaylo Beltchev.
