I cannot produce the original Windows 10 menu, whether via the choice off of the main Classic Shell Menu,
or via keyboard-summoning (see the Controls tab in Settings, where one may make the Win key plus mouse click
open the original Win 10 menu).

How may I fix this problem, without reinstalling? I am using the most recent version of Classic Shell and
the most recent version of Windows 10 that precedes the Anniversary Update.

Thanks

If you exit the start menu (right-click on the start button -> Exit), can you access the Windows 10 menu?

Thanks for the quick reply. No, I see the 4-white-pane icon (start button) for Windows 10 after I exit, but clicking it does nothing. Right-clicking it gives me a white-text-on-dark-gray menu of about a dozen options, from "Programs and Features" to "Desktop."

It appears your start menu is broken. Many people have reported problems with the Windows 10 start menu. If you log out, does it fix itself?

It is unlikely your problem is related to Classic Shell then. You can of course try uninstalling it. The settings will be preserved if you later wish to install it again.

Yes, I think that you are right. I did not realize that the Windows 10 Start Menu had been breaking for people. I tried the PowerShell recommendation here, to no avail: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/windo ... u-3623893/

I needed the original Windows 10 Start Menu only to pin from there to the Taskbar the Recycle-Bin icon (it won't pin directly from the Desktop — or Classic Shell — to the Taskbar). Is there another way?

Thanks for the terrific Classic Shell. It make the Windows 10 that I am stuck with bearable.
