If ClassicShell is installed on Windows 10 all color picker programs are ruined forever - they will never function again!

I rely on color pickers to create websites. Now, even after re-installing Windows 10 countless times the damage done by ClassicShell is permanent.

The color spot shown in the color program window is now 4 and a bit centimeters to the left and 5 and a bit centimeters up from the eye dropper spot chosen.

That is, the correct color is never shown again with any color picker program.

I cannot do a complete clean install because Windows 10 is an upgrade that leaves all damage done to the registry behind in the new install.

ClassicShell should be banned. :x

I will now have to buy Windows 10 Pro or buy a new laptop - you should pay for this!

P.S. My other laptop running Windows 10 with ClassicShell never installed is perfect.

None of what you are describing sounds like related to Classic Shell.

I would take a completely random and wild guess and say that this is likely caused by different DPI settings. Old programs don't support per-monitor DPI, and even older programs don't support DPI different than 96. Windows is lying to them how big the monitor is, the coordinates of the mouse, etc. It would explain why you are picking a color from the wrong spot.

Make sure you set all your monitors for DPI 96 and try again.

You can absolutely do a clean install, free, and legally..

Also as Ivo stated.. Its extremely unlikely that the problem you describe is even related to classic shell...
