I was working on an ASP.NET application, and I came across a bug where if a user entered text in a textbox control and quickly clicked a submit button after entry, the button would not fire. The user would have to click again, or the user would have to hover the mouse over the button for a few moments before clicking. After a process of elimination, I finally tracked the bug down to Classic Shell that some users were using to replace the start menu in Windows 8.1. The affected version was 4.2.1.

Does this happen in all browsers or just IE?
If you right-click on the start button and select Exit, does the problem go away?

The browsers I tested were IE 11 and the latest FireFox.

I didn't do any further isolation of the problem. It was revealed through imagining.

I am unaware of any reason why Classic Shell should affect Firefox. You can try isolating the problem by disabling the individual components one by one to see if the problem gets fixed.
