In Classic IE, the color of title bar text can be customized. Is that also possible in Classic Explorer? If it is not presently possible, can that feature be added to Classic Explorer?

The reason it can be customized in Classic IE is because the title bar text is completely removed in IE. It is added by Classic Shell's IE component.

Unfortunately, Windows Explorer only hides the title bar text (on Windows 7) and Classic Explorer component merely unhides it. On Windows 8+, the text is on by default. So the text color can't be customized for Windows Explorer.

GauravK, thanks for your reply. How unfortunate that in Windows 8+ one cannot customize the color of the title bar text in File (Windows) Explorer! Customization options at Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Personalization are less than in previous versions of Windows, which to me seems like the opposite of progress. I have not looked at Windows 10 -- is it better in that regard than Windows 8+?

No, Windows 10 is worse than Windows 8.

That is sad! When Windows 10 gets released to manufacturing, should one stay with Windows 8.1?

I think people should stay with Windows 7 or XP.

GauravK, that makes sense. However, when Windows XP support ended, I migrated to the then-latest version -- i.e., Windows 8.1. With a LOT of research, patience and effort, it eventually became reasonably user-friendly -- but not as user-friendly as Windows 2000 or Windows XP. I'll be cautious about migrating to Windows 10!
