Hi, I'm new to this program and was wondering if it was possible to replace the start button without replacing the start menu. This is to use Classic Start Menu as a custom start-button skin on Windows 7, but to retain the functionality (including pinned applications and saved links) of the original Windows Start menu.

Thanks.

Yes it is possible. Check the option to Replace Start button and set "Left click opens" and "Windows key opens" to Windows Start Menu from the Controls tab.

You also might want to compare the menus here: viewtopic.php?t=2399

If all you want is to replace the orb in Windows 7, then there are dedicated programs that do just that. Search for "start orb changer" and you will find a few. For example http://www.door2windows.com/windows-7-s ... one-click/ or http://blizo.deviantart.com/art/StartOr ... -155061270

Thanks, that worked wonderfully! I modified the registry settings in our logon scripts to add these two entries:

Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Settings\MouseClick = “WindowsMenu"
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Settings\WinKey="WindowsMenu”
