I just refreshed my Win 8 Pro x64 last night and installed the latest version of classic shell. I changed the start button image with a custom .bmp and switched the skin to smoked glass with the classic with two columns view and was working fine till I woke up this morning now when I click on it all I see is a shadow line on the right of where the menu is meant to appear. I restarted, exited and messed with the skin settings with no difference. How can I make it reappear?

No, Classic, Basic and XP Luna work with best appearance setting but no skin, full glass, smoked glass, win 8 and aero don't.

Something is busted with your transparency. Maybe you installed a new video driver or you accidentally changed some setting. I am unaware of any setting that would affect this though.
