Either I'm not understanding how this setting works, or it's not working for me in Windows 10.

I have "Hide scroll tooltips in file pane" selected, yet when I either hover over a file, or pause scrolling, the tooltips still display. Checked the FAQ, and can't find any reference to this behaviour in the forum.

Any idea how to kill these tips once and for all? :(

This setting is specifically for the tooltip that appears when you drag the scrollbar with the mouse. It shows the current scroll position.

Ah, thank you sir. Sure wish there was a way to kill the other ones. Annoying when you're working on multiple files one at a time.

For 20 years, Windows has a setting "Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items" in Folder Options (File Explorer Options) -> View tab that disables tooltips. :P
