Post subject:  Ideas for integrating a textbox inside windows explorer

I'm developping an entire application for my employer. I have to recreate a "Windows Explorer" from scratch, which is really time-consuming.

Instead, I would like to make an extension for Windows Explorer. This extension would have to put a textbox inside windows explorer. I would like to make it appear in the title bar, beside "back" and "next" buttons, like the "up" button of Classic Shell.

The textbox would be associated to a button. When writing some "project number" inside the textbox, then clicking the button, this would make Windows Explorer to change its current directory to some "complicated path". We have thousands of projects/customers, so a simple textbox where we write the project number would accelerate a lot our work.

Can you give me some hint for coding that ? The part like the "up button" ?

You can see the source code for older versions here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/classicshell/files/
I would recommend a toolbar though. It has more room for adding an editbox.
