Hi

ive just recently installed classic shell on my windows 8 for the start menu and also the polished folder tabs of windows 7
the start menu works okay, but is there a way i can disable the submenu and open the programs list in the same menu, like it does in windows 7?

also, the windows explorer tab of the folder is not changing...
you had said it will look like this - http://www.classicshell.net/ with a slight transparency of skin.. but all im getting is a box shaped plain window!

i have followed ur instructions given on faqs on what to do id WE doesnt work and i have enabled it. but still the skin isnt changing and it looks the same as it did in the beginning.

please do help

classic shell has been around longer than windows 8, and thus wasn't designed specifically for it, those pictures are from windows 8, there not transformations of windows 8 caused by classic shell.

box shaped plain window is caused by windows 8 theme...
lack of transparency is also part of windows 8... neither of these things is changed by classic shell

If you would like transparency/blur back for your windows:

If you want a theme similar to windows 7 (although the corners are still 'boxy')

In-line submenus is a much requested feature, and your request have been taken into account for possible development plans...

Thank you so much for the clarification :)

its an eyesore looking at the square box windows which remind me of windows 95. win7 had much more polish with the aero themes...
i searched a lott for good aero themes for win8, but the only good ones im getting are completely transparent.
however great it looks all transparent, when you multitask with many windows, the titles overshadow each other and the titles become impossible to read..

if you know about any good aero themes are available for win8 which has a translucent glow to it, it will be very helpful :)

and yes, will also look forward to the menu update :)
