Why not make an option to hide the adressbar but add a custom adressbar into the menubar? Then the back forward and up buttons from classicshell are skinnable and can be made for fitting our themes well

It would require coding an entirely new explorer; or hooking. Both are a lot of work, and potentially buggy. Classic shells primary focus is the start menu, though if at some point Ivo decides to re-expand his focus, this option will likely be considered (and it has been asked before)

No no there is already a program made with the opensource tool zerodump that disables the adressbar and the buttons on classic explorer can be configured left right up etc so the only thing classicexplorer needs to add is a custom adressbar to the classic explorer settings and maybe offer a reghack to disable the adressbar that way we can have everything nice and clean on the menu bar without all the clutter (assuming we disabled folderband in shellstyle.dll with reshacker)

that program probably does it by hooking into explorer (I could be wrong because I hardly know what i'm talking about)
which is something Ivo stated he is uncomfortable doing because it introduces a lot of potential issues;

though he has added features that require a specific mod to function; specifically the "aero glass" mod; which means he might be willing to add a feature that works in conjunction with another mod, if he sees it as important. He may have left on vacation already, so its possible he wont respond for a while (if he doesn't respond after 3 weeks, I would suggest bumping the thread)

Creating an entirely new address bar is no small task, particularly one that has to work on all versions of Windows supported by Classic Shell.
