I am new Windows 7 & Classic Shell user.

Is there any way to take the focus to the navigation pane by default when start windows explorer like XP explorer?

This isn't part of Classic Shell and has no relation to Classic Shell but try this DLL which a developer once coded for me:

1. Extract the ZIP and go to the appropriate folder (32-bit or 64-bit Windows).
2. Open an elevated command prompt.
3. At the administrator command prompt type type: regsvr32 <whatever path is to>...mousefocus.dll>.
4. Close all Explorer windows and open them again. Now the left pane will be focused if you registered the DLL correctly.

This was actually part of an unreleased project that some developer coded for me.
To remove its effect, open an admin command prompt and run: regsvr32 /u mousefocus.dll. That will unregister the DLL.

Another behavior of this DLL is that even if the focus is on the navigation pane initially when Explorer starts, if you hover over the right pane for a few seconds, the focus shifts to the right pane without clicking. If you hover again on the folder pane, it will shift to the left.

Thank you also :)
As an inveterate user of the keyboard, opening WinExp/Classic Explorer opens to nothing selected, unless a folder is specified.
With 4 drives it is easier to use the "down key" to my drive + "right-key" to open the drive
(Mouse RSI !!) ;)

Am about to try this DLL
