Post subject:  Directory refresh problem

Whenever a new file is created in a directory that I have open, I don't see the new file.
The directory doesn't get refreshed. I have to click View->Refresh to see it.

Is this is a problem with Classic Explorer, or Windows 7 itself?

Is there a Classic Explorer or Windows 7 setting that controls file directory refreshes?

Thanks

It is unlikely to be related to Classic Shell. How are you creating the file?

This is a problem with Explorer, not related to Classic Shell.

Is the directory you are working in include in a Library meaning are you accessing it via any of the Libraries or are you directly accessing the folder? There are 2 hotfixes related to directory refresh problems on Windows 7. Try installing both and restart Windows.

Thanks, those hotfixes worked!

That has been bothering me for the longest time. I don't know why those hotfixes weren't delivered through Windows Update.
It would have saved me a lot of headaches.

Any kind of new file creation, from fwrite() to DOS batch piping, etc...
New files didn't appear in the directory under Windows 7. I always had to refesh the directory.
