I am wanting to be able to disable the drag and drop feature in Windows Explorer so that I will not accidentally move an item to another folder. Thanks, - Jessica |

Check out this cmd line tool to adjust drag sensitivity: http://www.parkscomputing.com/2012/11/u ... -dragsens/ A value of 12 or 14 will be optimum to prevent accidental drag and drop. So run the command: dragsens 14. |

Hey Gurav, does this change that registry key that affects mouse sensitivity for selection as well? or does it go about a different method? (i modified a key a while back that does the same thing (reduce the chances of accidental drag/drop) however it had a few unintended consequences, when setting it high (like being able to select 1-2 characters properly with drag-selection After tinkering with it, i ended up setting it at 8, and I believe it was originally 4, or 2. I tried 12 and 16 but the above problem became to annoying... If you dont know thats fine ill test it out myself |

According to the developer: http://www.parkscomputing.com/2009/04/w ... y-utility/, it uses the API MS has provided to change the mouse drag sensitivity throughout the OS. You can change the registry key directly too although MS recommends that you use the API. TweakUI can also adjust the drag sensitivity if can get TweakUI running on Windows 7/8 using the Application Compatibility Toolkit. |
