Hello. Sometimes when I start CMD as admin from Classic Shell start menu, it starts with classic shell working dir, but must be C:\Windows\System32. In this case UAC ascs not a CMD rights, but Classic Shell.

  1. Open Start menu.
  2. Type to search bar "CMD".
  3. Press ctrl+shift+enter.
requred: UAC ascs CMD admin rights. Next, started CMD with working dir C:\Windows\System32

fact: UAC ascs classic shell admin rights. Next started CMD with classic shell working dir.

Classic shell version is 4.3.0.

This happens if "Search the system path" is turned off from the "Search" tab in Start Menu Settings and you type CMD and Ctrl+Shift+Enter it. This is because the Classic Start menu then uses App Paths functionality, not its own EXE path search feature.
