| Post subject: | Pinned Applications to Start Menu not showing up in CSM |
I searched around the forums and found a few posts/questions about pinned applications but none seemed to apply to my situation. CSM is not showing any Applications that I've pinned to the Start Menu. I can't seem to see an option for it in the Customize Start Menu Current/Available commands. I've messed around with a few settings from forum searches (e.g. Unchecking Show Recent on top) Running Windows Server 2012 64-bit Standard and CSM 3.6.7 Does anybdoy have any suggestions? |

You can't pin to the start menu from Explorer. The "Pin to Start" command pins to the start screen. It has nothing to do with the CSM. To pin to the start menu, drag the shortcut to the start button, wait for the menu to open, then drop it somewhere. |

Hmm, I could have sworn that CSM supported/subscribed to the Windows "Pin to Start Menu" list. That's really annoying not having that. I use that feature all the time. Is there any way you guys could put a "Pin to CSM" option in there when ever you right click on anything (be it in the CSM Search results) or Windows Explorer? |

Do you really see a menu item "Pin to Start Menu" on Server 2012? AFAIK there is no such thing. I may be wrong though, as I haven't used that Windows version much. |

On Windows 8/Windows 2012 it's called "Pin to Start" Given how little Microsoft "actually" rewrites from Windows to Windows I would "almost" make the assumption that it would be backed by either the same Registry location or backed by a similar manner and thus in theory, easy to subscribe to. |

"Pin to Start" means "Pin to Start Screen". It has nothing to do with the start menu. Although, I think the way it works is by placing a shortcut in the Programs folder. |

That would be my assumption too, hence why I would think it would be nice to see if it was possible to make them work one and the same. And if not, then see if it was possible to add a "Pin to CSM Menu" in the explorer context menu. Such a freaking lifesaver in certain scenarios/cases. And imho, a lot quicker than drag/drop hover over menu to get it to open and then drop. (which imho is quite error proof when you're trying to be quick. In my attempt it popped up / disappeared about 10 times and I had to re-initiate the drag/drop twice before finally getting it). |

EVO1, good news for you. Now the latest public beta version of Classic Shell which is available from the home page has proper 'Pin to Start Menu (Classic Shell)' in the right click menu. Try it if you are interested. |
