Classic Shell: Forum

Dear friends,

it is the first time, i want to use Classic Shell and it is my first contribution in this forum, of course.

I sit on a computer with windows 8.1 in a hostel in Asuncion in Paraguay. It was also the first time to use win 8x. A terrible environment. Therefore i downloaded Classic Shell and want to start. Nothing. No report, no information about, this or this don't exist. Short time, maybe 1 second, the wait symbol. No more.

I am not shure, that this temes list is correct with basic start problems. My search for similar problems was not helpful in this forum.

I have no idea, where to look. Is it a problem in the system or in Classic Shell or in both. I have to look in the event list? I will do. But maybe, you know, what can be. No virus scanner software work. Only the real necessary things.

What steps have you done? Have you installed it by downloading and running the installer from http://classicshell.net/?

yes, i have downloaded from the Classic Shell site. But know, after some error checks in the eventlog, i saw many DCOM 10010 errors. i searched a little bit, changed some registry entrys and after delete all logs with Nirsoft MyEventView i see no erreors more.

Now the Classic Shell is initialized and working. Many thanks for all.
