Firstly let me say thanks to all involved in creating this program. I was ready to give up on Windows 10...then I found Classic Shell.

My computer auto updated overnight and Classic Shell has disappeared. This happened once before and I got it straightened out somehow by uninstalling and reinstalling Classic Shell. I have done that again and the Classic Shell start menu shows up but my old style Desktop with icons is gone and the Windows 10 desktop seems to be the default. 10. This is on a new Dell Laptop 2/1 computer.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

twofish

Most likely you got upgraded to Windows 10 Anniversary. You need to install Classic Shell 4.3.0. Is that the version you are using?

Yes. I am using 4.3.0. The start menu is fine but my old style desktop is gone replaced by the Windows 10 one. I still see a flash of the old desktop just before Win 10 Desktop takes over.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "Windows 10 desktop".
Possibly you have enable Tablet Mode? Click on the notification icon in the bottom right corner (I think Win+A opens it as well), and see if Tablet Mode is on.

Ivo, it straightened out on it's own thank goodness. What I meant about the windows 10 Desktop is the one with all the Tiles rather than the old school plain desktop with icons like I am used to. I did check for tablet mode and it was not in tablet mode.

Thanks again for your replies and your help. Have a great day.
