I have noticed for quite some time that Classic Shell puts items on the Start menu that do nowhere. Example: Open Start menu and click All programs. One of the items listed is Windows Update. Click it and it goes nowhere. You also cannot copy it to the Desktop. If I do a Search for Windows Update, it finds it, but when you click it, again it goes nowhere. If they are not true shortcuts, why does CS show them? |

The start menu shows the contents of the Start Menu folders. Whatever Windows, or installers, or you, place in those folders will be displayed. |

Classic Shell's Start Menu only reinstates the way to access the shortcuts. The shortcut system is still under control of Windows and the shortcuts are all created by various installers or by Windows itself. |
