What do you mean - disable the start button? |

When you fist open Classic Shell you are presented with 'Settings for Classic Start Menu', one settings is Enable Start button. In this instance I have Classic Shell on a RDS server and do no wish for the Start Button to be displayed for each and every user, but will be using other settings within Classic Shell e.g. disable active corners, so I need to configure this via the group policy definition included with the install package. |

There are two parts here: 1) To disable the replacement of the start button, use the "Enable Start button" policy 2) To make it so that he start button does not show the Classic Shell menu, use the "Left Click opens" and "Windows Key opens" policies - set them to open the Windows start menu or nothing |

I do not have the Enable Start button setting, so I guess this is why I'm struggling... I have Replace Start button. |

Yeah. It's the same. It is called "Replace" on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10, and "Enable" on Windows 8. But the GPO can't change names based on the version, so it is always called "Replace". |

Disabled is not supported. You need to enable the policy and uncheck the checkbox. |
