hello
have win7 prof.

New applications always make an recent entry above the start menu but the 2
boxes are unchecked in the preferences.

Where can I disable it ?

Those are the Windows settings. You need to set the Classic Start Menu settings. Right-click on the start button, select Settings, go to the Main Menu tab, and look for a setting about recent/frequent programs.
