Problem: Jump lists do not work after upgrading to Windows 10 v1511 even though I am on Classic Shell 4.2.5
Steps taken:
- I just upgraded to Win 10 (got tired of the nag screens..!).
- Initially the windows start menu worked fine.
- Then a short while later, Classic Shell opened a dialog requesting authorization to configure itself for Win 10. I checked that Jump Lists are enabled in Windows and in Classic Shell.
- Classic Shell worked.
- But Jump Lists do not. Opened up some sample docs etc so I could populate some Jump Lists - no joy.
- I exited Classic Shell,
- Windows Start Menu does not work at all
- Taskbar Jump Lists do not work - I don't know if they worked before Classic Shell configured itself for Windows 10
- I then uninstalled Classic Shell, rebooted - no joy.
- Reinstalled Classic Shell - still no ice cream.
- Then went into elevated PowerShell and ran sfc /scannow
- scannow identified some warnings and at least one corrupted file (opencl.dll). The CBS log is attached. If anyone has an ideas, I'm all ears. I could not see any deal breakers in the log file. But I could be wrong.
Jump Lists are such a good productivity enhancement, I hate to see it broken.
Cheers, kkc
