Hi, firstly thanks for a wonderful program. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious but is it possible to group Metro apps into a hierarchy, or at least one level of folders, rather than just an A-Z list? |

This might help for now: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3403 You get groups in the left column although it requires more effort to create the group header/separator. |

That's a nice feature but it only works in the Programs list; it won't let me add shortcuts to the Apps list, I can only reorder them. |

Which style of the menu are you using and which Windows OS are you running? Classic, Classic with two columns or Windows 7 style? With some customization, there is a way to organize the Apps folder. |

1. Press Win+R keys to open the Run dialog and type this and press Enter: shell:AppsFolder 2. The Applications folder will open. Now right click all the Metro "apps" and choose "Create shortcut". Create a shortcut on the Desktop. 3. Open File Explorer and create another folder anywhere called "Apps". e.g. You can create it in %localappdata%\ClassicShell\ so the new path is %localappdata%\ClassicShell\Apps\ 4. Inside this "Apps" folder, create subfolders/groups as you want. You can create empty new folders as you want. 5. Move/cut and paste the shortcuts you created on the Desktop in step #2 inside these folders as you want. 6. Open Classic Start Menu Settings and go to the Customize Start Menu tab. Double click the icon of "Apps" in the left column. Erase the contents of the "Command" field. 7. In the "Link" field, type the path of the new Apps folder e.g. %localappdata%\ClassicShell\Apps and click OK everywhere to save settings. Now the menu will show the new Apps folder. You can get apps organized by category (folders). The only downside is every time you install a new app, you will have to create a shortcut to it by opening shell:AppsFolder and move the shortcut inside %localappdata%\ClassicShell\Apps\<correct category>. It won't be automatic like the original Apps folder. |

That's awesome, works perfectly ![]() Just one tip to add when you open the shell:AppsFolder I found you can identify the metro apps by clicking on view / details; the metro apps all have long display names the others don't. Many thanks! |
